As reported by the National Collation Against Domestic Violence, the Victims of Crime Act was
inducted in 1984 allowing moneys collected from Federal offenders to be utilized in bringing service
to victims of crime.  Currently, every state has crime victim agencies and almost 4 million victims
are serviced each year.
